The Role:

MSL Rare Disease | Biopharmaceutical Rare Disease Company


We have been engaged by our biopharmaceutical client to expand their existing MSL team for another launch set for 2020. This is yet another Rare Disease asset.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create and sustain relationships with industry/academic leaders, physicians and other healthcare professionals. One should be skilled in clinical research and understand the process of the pharmaceutical product development and approval.


  • They currently have 3 marketed products and a very robust pipeline from Preclinical to Phase III.

  • This launch will be their 4th product to hit the market making a difference in the lives of patients.

  • The total MSL team will be 10 which allows you the uniqueness of working across therapeutic areas and having a diverse disease portfolio within the Rare Disease space.


  • Cultivate, maintain and leverage relationships with national, regional and local KOLs.

  • Foster mutually productive partnerships with KOLs in the areas of medical education and clinical/scientific research.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of medical education strategies and initiatives.

  • Support and moderate advisory board meetings and speaker training initiatives.

  • Maintain cross-functional collaboration with internal teams including Clinical Research, Medical Information and Medical Communications.

  • Contribute to publication planning, development of medical education material and internal training.

  • Assist with sponsored research (site identification, recruitment, etc.) and investigator initiated research (conduit, protocol champion, status updates, etc.).

  • Deliver medical presentations to diverse audiences effectively, including physicians, pharmacists and nurses.


  • PharmD, MD, PhD preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with hands on knowledge as a Medical Science Liaison.

  • Nephrology/Rare Disease experience and established KOL contacts in Nephrology/Genetics is a plus.

  • Ability to travel up to 60+%.
