DESCRIPTION:

We have been retained to identify a Senior Market Access Manager for our worldwide leader in in-vitro diagnostics client. Our client is focused on making the world a healthier place.

This individual will help to shape our client’s pre-launch market access strategy for products within the pipeline for the US market. This position will be a key member of the US Market Access and Medical Affairs team.

The role works cross-functionally across the organization, including Global Market Access, Global Strategic Marketing, Global Marketing, Research & Development, Global Medical Affairs, US Marketing, and Sales and US Medical Affairs, to shape coverage success for customers in the U.S. market. 

This role works to leverage this product strategy knowledge in informing the overall market access strategy through development, evidence generation and defining the clinical value proposition. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COMPANY AND ROLE:

  • Reports to the Senior Director of Market Access.

  • This individual will integrate a Market Access perspective into key pipeline decisions to support optimal payer coverage and patient access for new pipeline products when in market.

  • It is essential that this individual have strong presentation skills.

  • This position will require approximately 25% travel domestically.

HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a key member of US Market Access and Medical Affairs teams and collaborate with Global teams to shape pipeline strategy and inform stage gate decisions.

  • Work across the broader organization to develop the business rationale and clear value propositions for the payor community to drive access and reimbursement strategies.

  • Assess & advise clinical, economic, humanistic evidence strategy to shape early value proposition and commercial plans from an Access perspective.

  • Partner with the Global and Regional teams and provide strategic market access direction, define product vision and oversee product success from development to commercialization.

  • Generate insights to shape evidence strategy for proposed products to be launched in the US market.

  • Model pricing to inform business planning & forecasts.

  • Collaborate effectively with brand teams and across market access to ensure strategies, priorities and tactics are aligned and support the brand strategies and objectives as well as the needs of the US Sales.

  • Utilize deep understanding of the changing healthcare landscape and the impact on both short- and long-term requirements for delivering sustainable market access and reimbursement strategies.

  • In coordination with Government Affairs work with key industry associations to assess how changes in the regulatory environment will impact pipeline or in market products from a market access perspective.

  • Collaborate with the Market Access team to develop, lead, and execute a strategy plan for closing market gaps while addressing payor concerns.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree required, or 10 years Medical Device or Diagnostics experience.

  • 7 years of progressive healthcare experience in clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology industries.

  • Diagnostic or Medical Devices experience required and familiarity with competing diagnostic technologies utilized in the laboratory setting and associated R&D, regulatory impacts, commercialization and reimbursement considerations.

  • Minimum of 5 years of product or strategic marketing experience is preferred.

  • Must demonstrate strong strategy, innovation, collaboration and analytical skills.

  • A strong communicator that can lead delivery and creation of innovative and tailored communications to educate and mobilize critical stakeholders is required.

  • Deep understanding of the US Market Access environment (e.g., U.S. payer system, coding, pricing, reimbursement, patient access services).

  • Knowledge with product lifecycle planning and management, including evidence generation strategies to support new claims indications and clinical value.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and interdependently in cross-functional (matrix) teams, including demonstration of successfully working remotely.
