#174: How to Create a COVID-19 Safe Working Environment

As Americans are anticipating heading back to work, Cushman & Wakefield, a commercial real estate company, has some suggestions on how we may do so safely.

They are developing new work space concepts using information gathered from China, the World Health Organization and medical specialist. The plan also reinforces better hygiene and social distancing.

Work spaces need to be redesign to offer at least six feet in between work zones. Visual signals, such circles on the floor around desks, should be used to ensure people to not get too close each other.

Businesses can also use arrows on the floor to create a one-way traffic approach that healthcare workers use in hospitals to avoid the spread of germs.

Lastly, each morning all employees should be asked to use a paper placement for their desk. At the end of the day, the paper is thrown away, which could help mitigate some contact-based spread of COVID-19 on office surfaces.
