As Marketing Director, one will establish our client as one of the top CDMO/CRO’s in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and biotechnology markets through implementation of robust strategic and tactical marketing activities. The Director will support our client in attracting and retaining a global customer base and securing a pipeline of clients and projects leading to consistent, sustainable, predictable growth of the business.
The Director will be tasked with building brand equity, establishing ‘share of mind’ and successfully positioning our client against its respective competitors. The role will also take a lead position in understanding the technology trends and market dynamics as it relates to the CDMO/CRO sectors of the market.

Reports into the Senior Vice President of Business Development.
One should have experience in launching new services or products to the market, life cycle management and optimization.
In this role the Director will have one director report with the opportunity to build a team in the future.
HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads and develops the Global Strategic planning process by assessing target industry / market data, gathering of market intelligence on competitors, customers and technology platforms, optimizing competitive positioning and creating compelling value propositions. Establish metrics and Key Performance Indicators to measure success of the strategic initiatives deployed and advise on course corrections as required.
Responsible for all Global Marketing Communications to achieve the company’s short-range and long-range business development objectives, promoting our client to target markets in the bio/pharmaceutical market segments through advertising, on-line presence, conference attendance, and brand management.
Responsible for website management and optimization with a focus on lead generation of new clients within specific markets (i.e. direct/SEO, SEM, advertising).
Grow and develop the marketing department through hiring of key positions to ensure the function has the appropriate infrastructure to execute on all the associated tasks and activities.
Responsible for optimizing use of all marketing channels, maximizing efficiency and ensuring they are all linked, i.e. consistent messaging; Responsible for evaluating ongoing performance and optimizing and course-correcting strategy. Tasked with working in a multi-channel campaign mentality to plan social, email, advertising, website content, and tradeshow schedules.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of experience in leading a Life-Science based Marketing department. A bachelor’s degree in a Life Science’s and formal Marketing qualifications / MBA preferred. Experience in managing marketing activities for multiple sites located in the US and Europe preferred.
Demonstrated marketing skills include branding, market definition, deep customer insight, positioning, segmentation, message development, marketing mix, and competitive strategy.
Proven leadership track record including strategic thinking, driving innovation, teamwork and collaboration.
Experience in the Contract Manufacturing (CMO) and/or Contract Research (CRO) markets specifically working on pre-clinical / clinical development of biologics.
