Months after a tornado destroyed a majority of Pfizer’s Rocky Mount plant, the manufacturing lines have restarted. Additionally, they have launched an additional line at the site’s new sterile injectable manufacturing area.

Production is restarting in phases with full production expected to be back online by the end of 2023. Pfizer has cautioned that some medicines may not be back in full supply until next year, noting that impacts from the tornado may be felt until at least mid-2024.
