THE ROLE:

Senior Medical Director Medical Affairs | Small Biopharmaceutical Company

DESCRIPTION:

This Senior Medical Director Medical Affairs search is being conducted on behalf of our small biopharmaceutical company. They are focused on transforming the lives of patients battling serious rare diseases.

One will work closely in setting the strategy for current product and future pipeline strategies. One should be comfortable in small, nimble environment where you roll up your sleeves and take charge. This is fast paced environment where one must work with a sense of business urgency. This does not have direct reports but does function in a highly matrix and collaborative work environment.

The ideal candidate will have proven success in thinking and executing strategically. One should have expertise in infectious disease or pulmonary diseases.

Location: This company is located in central New Jersey – in an area that is very commutable from NYC and Philadelphia.

HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support strategy, design and execution of Phase 4 company sponsored studies.

  • Provide medical expertise into the product marketing strategies.

  • Provide medical support to review of promotional materials.

  • Provide medical support to the review of medical materials, including standard medical information response documents, and materials used by Field Medical.

  • Provide support to the medical communications strategy and execution (Abstracts, posters, publications).

  • Contribute to the strategy and review for Independent Medical Education in compliance with internal process.

  • Provide support to fair market valuation of US Health care decision makers.

  • Provide support to clinical trial transparency reporting.

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires an M.D. or DO certification. Specialization in pulmonary or infectious diseases is a plus.

  • Minimum five years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, working in Medical Affairs and /or Clinical Development.

  • Prior experience in pulmonary diseases is strongly preferred. Additional experience in infectious diseases or rare diseases also highly valued.

  • Prior experience in supporting a product launch preferred.

  • Demonstrated understanding of US healthcare environment; legal, regulatory and compliance policies.

  • Requires strong business acumen with strategic thinking and highly effective analytic skills.
